Nagradni konkurs Different Worlds za mlade fotografe iz regiona

Galerija Photon - Centar za savremenu umetnost u Ljubljani raspisala je peti nagradni konkurs “Različiti svetovi” (Different Worlds) za mlade i talentovane umetnike u oblasti savremene fotografske umetnosti iz zemalja Centralne i Jugoistočne Evrope.

Prva nagrada iznosi 1.000 evra za produkciju i samostalnu izložbu u Photon galeriji. Takođe, desetoro odabranih autora predstaviće svoje radove na grupnoj izložbi u Ljubljani, Beču i drugde.

Poziv za učešće upućen je mladim umetnicima do 35 godina (uključujući rođene 1982. godine) koji rade u centralnoevropskim zemljama (Estonija, Letonija, Litvanija, Češka, Slovačka, Poljska, Mađarska, Rumunija i Bugarska) i na prostoru Zapadnog Balkana / bivše Jugoslavije (Slovenija, Hrvatska, Bosna i Hercegovina, Srbija, Crna Gora, Kosovo i Makedonija) ili koji dolaze iz tih zemalja i rade u inostranstvu.

Tema je slobodna.

Prihvataju se radovi u širokom spektru fotografskog medija i srodnih praksi (fotografija, fotomontaža, foto-kolaž, foto-instalacija, aproprijacija pronađenih fotografija…).

Žiri će dati prednost radovima koji izražavaju originalnost, nekonvencionalnost i inovaciju kako u formalnom pristupu, tako i u pogledu teme i koncepta.

Prijava treba da sadrži:

- portfolio autora sa maksimalno dva završena projekta ili projektima u razvoju, od kojih svaki može da obuhvata najviše 20 fotografija (rezolucija najmanje 1.800 px po dužoj strani, u PDF ili JPG formatu);
- opis projekta (na engleskom) do 1.500 karaktera;
- kratku biografiju;
- dodatne tehničke specifikacije (fortmat i dimenzije radova, optimalan način prezentacije na izložbi).
 
Kompletiranu prijavu treba poslati u zipovanom fajlu koji treba nazvati prema sledećem principu: Ime_Prezime_Naziv projekta, i treba je poslati zajedno sa aplikacionim formularom.

Odabrani umetnici biće predstavljeni na grupnim izložbama u Photon galeriji i Kinu Šiška u Ljubljani od 6. novembra do 1. decembra 2017.

Izložbu će pratiti katalog, a posle Ljubljane će biti postavljena i u Beču i drugim gradovima u kojima su partneri projekta (2016. godine izložba je gostovala u Kući fotografije u Bratislavi i Viltin galeriji u Budimpešti).

DIFFERENT WORLDS – 5TH INTERNATIONAL OPEN CALL FOR YOUNG PHOTOGRAPHERS FROM THE CENTRAL AND SOUTH-EAST EUROPE (CEE)

Open call for young and promising artists in the field of contemporary art photography organized by Photon Gallery – Centre for Contemporary Photography from Ljubljana. The first prize is € 1,000 for the production and solo exhibition at Photon Gallery. The selected ten artists will present their work at the group exhibition in Ljubljana, Vienna and elsewhere!

The call is open to artists up to 35 years of age (including those born in 1982) who work in the CEE region (Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Czech Republic, Slovakia, Poland, Hungary, Romania and Bulgaria) and in the states of the western Balkans / former Yugoslavia (Slovenia, Croatia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Serbia, Montenegro, Kosovo, Macedonia) or who come from these states and work abroad.

The selection of the artists and the works will be in the hands of the independent international jury composed of Branko Lenart (a photographer and a former professor at College of Art and Design and University of Applied Sciences Joanneum, Graz), Michaela Bosakova (Photon – Centre for Contemporary Photography, Vienna), Jean-Luc Soret (curator, Maison de la Photographie, Paris) and Anja Zver (Kino Šiška Center for Urban Culture, Ljubljana).

There is no prescribed theme for the call. We accept the works in the wide range of photography and photography-related practices (photography, photomontage, photo-collage, photo-installation, appropriation of found photographs, etc.). The jury will evaluate higher those works which exhibit originality, unconventionality and innovation both in the formal approach as well as with regard to themes and concepts!

The application should include:
•  author’s portfolio of maximum two completed projects or projects in the process, each can include maximum 20 photographs, in the resolution of at least 1,800 pixels on the long side in PDF or JPG format;
•  the argumentation of the projects (in English) up to 1,500 characters;
• a short biography of the applicant;
• additional technical specifications: format and dimensions of the works, optimal way of presentation in the exhibition format.

The complete application should be packed in one zip file and renamed in format of Name_Surname_ProjectTitle.zip

You send it together with the application form.

The selected artists will be presented at the group exhibitions in Photon Gallery and Kino Šiška Center for Urban Culture in Ljubljana which will be open from 6th November to 1st December 2017. The exhibition accompanied by a catalogue will travel after Ljubljana to Vienna and other cities of the project partners (in 2016 it was hosted in Bratislava, The House of Photography and in Budapest, Viltin Gallery).
