The first Sumadija international film festival
The Sumadija International Film Festival (SIFF), founded by a group of film artists and workers from Kragujevac, is dedicated to debutants, and the first edition of the festival from 15 to 18 December will be held at the House of Trade Unions and the Youth Center Kragujevac, and will offer two competition programs - for feature-length and short films.
For the Audience Award of the city of Kragujevac ten feature-length achievements of European and Serbian cinematography will compete, as well as eight short films from Serbia, as announced on December 13 at a press conference in the Serbian Film Center, by SIFF's chairman Gordan Matic and program director Vladimir Vasiljevic.
The focus is on the first or second film by young authors, as organizers of SIFF wish to promote the principle of young people to young people (youth-to-youth).
The first SIFF is invitational for participants, based on recommendations from cultural centers, and the same concept is planned for next year. Films are selected from the regions of former Yugoslavia, while at least two places will be reserved for Serbian production.
Both films and documentaries are in equal competition.
